The iconic Victoria's Secret Fashion Show has made its comeback, and modeling legend Tyra Banks is back on the runway! At 50 years old, Banks, who graced the catwalk in nine shows before retiring from modeling in 2005, made a triumphant return on October 15, captivating the audience as "Native New Yorker" played in the background.

Dressed to impress, Banks strutted down the runway in a stunning silver cape with black lining, a crystal-studded bustier, sparkly leggings, and heels, showcasing her trademark confidence.

Before taking the stage in New York City, the birthplace of the fashion show, Banks teased the event alongside another Victoria's Secret favorite, Gigi Hadid. The duo announced the show's return in August with a playful sketch video set to music by Chappell Roan, where Banks playfully remarked, "What we really need is a femininomenon!"

In a statement shared with PEOPLE, a Victoria's Secret representative promised that the 2024 show would reflect the brand's current identity while retaining the glamour and excitement fans love. "The 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show will deliver precisely what our customers have been asking for — the glamour, runway, fashion, fun, wings, entertainment — all through a powerful, modern lens reflecting who we are today. We're thrilled to share a women-led articulation of this iconic property later this year!"

Reflecting on her return, Banks admitted in a social media post that it felt surreal to walk the runway again. “It feels crazy being back on the Victoria’s Secret runway. I mean ‘cray cray,’ as in ‘cray cray good.' I never thought that I would be back on this runway, to be honest.”

Speaking with Harper's BAZAAR, Banks described the experience as "a little bit of an out-of-body experience" after nearly two decades away, revealing that she had been practicing by walking in heels. “I walked off that runway and had this big retirement, and it was such a spectacle. I felt like that athlete that’s like, 'I’m hanging up my cleats … I’m retiring the basketball.' And now, I’m back!”

Banks expressed her excitement about the return, saying, “I never in a million years thought that I would be back on the runway, but I am so beyond excited and so ready for this.”
