Amber Heard shares joyful news of twins' birth in heartfelt Mother’s Day post.
Amber Heard has announced the birth of twins in a Mother’s Day Instagram post shared in the United States.
The American actress revealed she has welcomed daughter Agnes and son Ocean, expressing that she was “elated beyond words” to celebrate what she called the “completion” of her family.
Heard, 39, previously welcomed her first daughter, Oonagh, in 2021.
Alongside a photo showing three pairs of feet, she wrote: “Becoming a mother by myself and on my own terms, despite my own fertility challenges, has been the most humbling experience of my life.”
She emphasized that she had chosen motherhood “responsibly and thoughtfully” and said she “couldn’t possibly burst with more joy.” Heard described her family as the one she had “strived to build for years.”
“To all the moms, wherever you are today and however you got here, my dream family and I are celebrating with you,” she added.
When she announced Oonagh’s birth in 2021, Heard spoke about her hope for it to become “normalised to not want a ring in order to have a crib.” At the time, she reflected: “I now appreciate how radical it is for us as women to think about one of the most fundamental parts of our destinies in this way.”
Heard is best known for her roles in The Rum Diary, Drive Angry, Zombieland, and Aquaman.
She was married to actor Johnny Depp from 2015 to 2016. After their marriage ended, both accused each other of domestic abuse, leading to two high-profile defamation trials.
In 2020, Depp lost a UK libel case against The Sun newspaper after Heard gave evidence supporting claims he was a “wife-beater.” In the widely covered Depp v. Heard trial in the United States, Heard was found liable for defaming Depp.
Over six weeks in 2022, a Virginia court examined the couple’s turbulent relationship. Depp had sued Heard for defamation over a Washington Post opinion article in which she described herself as a domestic abuse survivor, although she did not name Depp. Heard counter-sued.
Jurors awarded Depp $15 million in compensatory and punitive damages. Heard won one of her counterclaims and was awarded $2 million in compensatory damages.
