Nico Iamaleava sits out second half as a precaution.

Tennessee expects to have starting quarterback Nico Iamaleava back for next week's game at Georgia after the redshirt freshman missed the second half of Saturday's victory over Mississippi State due to an undisclosed injury.

Iamaleava sustained the injury in the second quarter, when he was hit hard on his right side by Mississippi State's Isaac Smith. He briefly returned for Tennessee’s final drive of the first half but was held out for the remainder of the game as a precautionary measure.

Coach Josh Heupel said the team anticipates Iamaleava being ready for the Georgia matchup next week, adding, "I feel like we'll be ready to roll."

In Saturday's win, Iamaleava completed 8 of 13 passes for 174 yards and two touchdowns, while adding 22 rushing yards, helping Tennessee build a 20-7 halftime lead. Gaston Moore replaced Iamaleava and passed for 38 yards in the Vols' 33-14 victory.
