Teri Garr, the acclaimed actress known for her roles in Young Frankenstein and Tootsie, has passed away at the age of 79.



 Teri Garr, the Oscar-nominated actress celebrated for her roles in films such as Young Frankenstein, Tootsie, and Mr. Mom, has passed away at the age of 79, as confirmed by her manager.Garr died on Tuesday in Los Angeles, more than two decades after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Her manager, Marc Gurvitz, shared the news with CNN.

In a 2002 interview with CNN, Garr publicly revealed her diagnosis to raise awareness for those living with MS. She reflected on her initial fears upon receiving the diagnosis after consulting 11 doctors and enduring years of unexplained symptoms. “I think everybody is scared and frightened when they hear something like that,” she said. “That’s because there’s so much – you know, there’s not a lot of information out there about it. And a lot of people don’t know that it’s not that bad. I mean, I’m going on with my life.”
