Kylian Mbappé's Surprising Stat Rivals Las Palmas Following Defeat to Barcelona

Kylian Mbappé’s debut in El Clásico proved to be a challenging affair, as Real Madrid suffered a 4-0 defeat to FC Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabéu on Saturday night.

Despite the first half ending in a stalemate, Mbappé thought he had given Madrid the lead in the 31st minute, only to have his goal disallowed by VAR for offside, a harbinger of the difficulties he would face throughout the match.

Offside calls plagued Mbappé, with StatMuse reporting he was flagged eight times during the game—a tally that almost matched Las Palmas’ entire season total of nine.

As if things couldn’t get worse, Madrid watched as Barcelona celebrated four goals in the second half. Veteran striker Robert Lewandowski netted twice, first in the 54th minute and then again just two minutes later, before Lamine Yamal scored in the 77th minute. Raphinha capped off the night with a goal in the 84th minute, sealing Madrid's fate.

It’s been a rough start for Mbappé at Real Madrid, and unless he can turn things around, his tenure could end on a disappointing note.
