Taylor Swift backs Kamala Harris for president following the debate, stating, "I’ve made my choice."

Taylor Swift publicly endorsed Kamala Harris for president shortly after Harris's debate against Republican nominee Donald Trump. In an Instagram post, Swift expressed her support, stating, "she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them."

In her message to her 283 million followers, Swift encouraged everyone to do their research and make their own voting choices. She emphasized the importance of registering to vote, especially for first-time voters, and suggested that early voting is a more convenient option. She also promised to share links for registration and early voting information in her story.

Swift signed off her post humorously as "Taylor Swift, Childless Cat Lady," referencing comments made by Trump’s running mate, J.D. Vance, who had criticized "childless cat ladies" in a previous interview.

Within minutes of posting, Swift's endorsement received over 2 million likes.

Her support came in response to backlash directed at Brittany Mahomes, wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, after she liked a post from Trump outlining the "2024 GOP platform." This action sparked criticism, including from some Swift fans, who shared screenshots of Mahomes's like across social media.
