No. 7 Notre Dame edges out No. 20 Texas A&M in a thrilling Week 1 college football clash.



 Labor Day weekend marks the official return of college football, kicking off with some intense matchups and standout performances.

Top-ranked Georgia made a statement in their season opener, dominating No. 14 Clemson with a 34-3 victory. Heisman favorite Carson Beck was sharp, throwing for 278 yards and two touchdowns, leading the Bulldogs in this marquee showdown.

Meanwhile, No. 19 Miami took care of in-state rival Florida, with new quarterback Cam Ward impressing in his debut, passing for 385 yards and three touchdowns.

Elsewhere, No. 4 Texas and No. 8 Penn State handled their business. Arch Manning scored the first touchdowns of his career in mop-up duty as the Longhorns routed Colorado State, while Penn State’s Drew Allar looked comfortable in the Nittany Lions’ revamped offense during their win over West Virginia.

In the late game, No. 7 Notre Dame outlasted No. 20 Texas A&M in a hard-fought contest, pulling away for a 23-13 win. The two teams battled throughout, but the Irish sealed the victory with a strong rushing attack and a stout defense.

The college football season is back, and it's off to an electrifying start.
