In overtime, the Lions received the ball first and prevented the Rams from making an offensive play. Two run plays set the tone for their drive, with Khalif Raymond gaining a first down on a jet sweep, followed by David Montgomery's impressive 21-yard rush into Rams territory.
Goff then connected with Jahmyr Gibbs for a 10-yard gain, bringing the Lions closer to the end zone.
Montgomery had several more carries before ultimately scoring. He ended the game with 91 rushing yards, while Gibbs contributed 40 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Goff completed 18 of 28 passes for 217 yards, along with one touchdown and one interception.
The Lions established a strong lead early in the third quarter when Goff threw a 52-yard touchdown pass to Williams, making the score 17-3 with 10:29 left in the quarter.

That moment marked a turning point for the Rams, who needed to rally.
Matthew Stafford led the Rams on an 11-play, 70-yard drive, capped off by a touchdown from Kyren Williams that narrowed the gap to seven points. Kicker Joshua Karty then added a 26-yard field goal, and Stafford found Cooper Kupp for a 9-yard touchdown, tying the game.
In their final drive, Goff maneuvered the Lions into field-goal range, and Jake Bates converted a 32-yard attempt, bringing the score to 20-20 as the game entered overtime.
Williams recorded five catches for 121 yards.
Stafford had a strong performance, particularly in the second half, finishing with 317 passing yards, a touchdown, and an interception.
The Rams' offense faced challenges early when Puka Nacua exited the game due to a knee injury and did not return.
