Falcons vs. Eagles Highlights: Kirk Cousins Guides Last-Minute Comeback Victory in Philadelphia

Kirk Cousins orchestrated a dramatic last-minute touchdown drive, leading the Atlanta Falcons to a stunning 22-21 comeback victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night.

Trailing 18-15, the Falcons began their drive at the 30-yard line with just 1:39 left and no timeouts. Cousins displayed poise and efficiency, completing six plays in 65 seconds before connecting with Drake London for the go-ahead touchdown with under 40 seconds remaining.

The Eagles couldn't respond, as Jalen Hurts was intercepted during their final drive.

“Sometimes the easiest ones are the hardest ones,” London remarked about the game-winning play during his post-game interview with ESPN. “Once I made my move and was open, I just had to catch the ball and secure it.”

The nail-biting finish followed a game that saw both teams favor their running games. Atlanta eventually shifted gears during the final drive. The Eagles ran for 186 yards on 37 carries, while the Falcons accumulated 152 yards on 28 attempts.

The Eagles appeared poised to seal the game late in the fourth quarter. On a crucial third-and-3 from the Atlanta 10-yard line, running back Saquon Barkley dropped a pass that would have likely secured a first down. If successful, Philadelphia could have run out the clock. Instead, they opted for a field goal on fourth down, inadvertently giving the Falcons another chance.

“I dropped the ball,” Barkley acknowledged after the game. “I let my team down today.”

Cousins finished the night with 20 completions on 29 attempts for 241 yards and two touchdowns, a significant improvement from his performance in Week 1. Hurts completed 23 of 30 passes for 183 yards and a touchdown, adding 85 rushing yards and a score.

Despite the win, Cousins felt he could improve. “I didn’t feel sharp enough today, not accurate enough,” he said on ESPN. “But that last drive should give us a boost going into next week. We can build on that.”

With this loss, Philadelphia fell to 1-1 and will face the New Orleans Saints in Week 3. Atlanta improved to 1-1 and will next take on the Kansas City Chiefs in a "Sunday Night Football" matchup.
