Jenn Tran has taken aim at Devin Strader after he ended their engagement over the phone shortly after she made an unprecedented proposal. The Season 21 "Bachelorette" criticized her ex’s social media actions following the airing of Tuesday’s finale.
“What I can’t comprehend is everything you did after we ended our engagement,” the 26-year-old remarked during the “After the Final Rose” special.
She specifically called out Strader for following Maria Georgas on Instagram the day after their breakup, saying, “Ending the engagement on a phone call, and then waking up to see you following girls on Instagram — not just any girl, but Maria [Georgas]. It’s so disrespectful to what we shared, and I just don’t understand why you would do that.” Tran expressed that his actions “completely invalidated” their romance.
In response, Strader, 28, acknowledged, “Obviously I failed you. There’s nothing I can say beyond that. But everything I felt for you was real.”
While he didn’t address the comment about Georgas directly, Strader defended himself against accusations of partying with co-star Jeremy Simon after their split, asking, “Am I not allowed to live my life?” He admitted he had doubts after leaving the show but stated he had come clean about his feelings.
Strader ended the relationship during a 15-minute phone call and reportedly "ghosted" Tran afterward.
During the special, Tran criticized him for proposing with an oval-cut diamond ring in May, asserting that he wasn’t “ready to fight for love.” Strader later admitted he had “fallen short” of her expectations.
Previously, Bachelor Nation member Ashley Iaconetti predicted Tran might not find happiness in her next relationship, saying, “I just don’t know if there’s a connection that stands out above everyone else at this point.”
The Bachelorette is streaming on Hulu.
