‘Call Her Daddy’ Host Alex Cooper Exits Spotify for $125 Million Deal with SiriusXM

Exciting News, Daddy Gang!

Alex Cooper, the host of Call Her Daddy, has secured a multi-million dollar, multi-year deal to bring her popular sex advice-turned-talk show podcast, along with several other shows, to SiriusXM next year. This marks her departure from Spotify, where she has been streaming for the past three years.

According to sources who spoke with CNN and The Hollywood Reporter, the satellite radio company is set to pay Cooper as much as $125 million over the next three years. However, a source told Variety that the deal is valued closer to $100 million.

This agreement is non-exclusive, meaning Cooper’s content will still be available for streaming on all platforms, including Spotify. SiriusXM will have advertising and distribution rights for the shows produced under her Unwell Network, such as Hot Mess With Alix Earle and Pretty Lonesome With Madeline Argy.

“I am beyond excited to work with SiriusXM,” Cooper stated. “The Daddy Gang will always be my top priority, and with SiriusXM, we will continue to find new ways to evolve and provide my listeners with the best experience. The Daddy Gang wants more, so we’re getting ready to give them more… I can’t wait for this new chapter to begin.”

At just 29 years old, Cooper is one of the world’s leading podcasters, with Call Her Daddy consistently ranking among the top 10 podcasts in the United States. As of Tuesday evening, the show held the number 9 spot on Spotify's charts, just below major hits like Crime Junkie, The Daily from The New York Times, and The Joe Rogan Experience.

In 2021, Spotify made headlines by acquiring Call Her Daddy from Barstool Sports for a record-breaking $60 million. This deal followed a contentious split between Cooper and her original co-host, Sofia Franklyn.

While this is one of the largest deals of its kind, it still falls short of Joe Rogan’s landmark agreement with Spotify, which was reportedly worth $250 million.

SiriusXM's push to expand its lineup of flagship podcasts comes on the heels of a $100 million deal in January with SmartLess, which they acquired from Amazon. The company also features shows like Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend, 99% Invisible, and Freakonomics.
