William Levy Arrested in Florida for Disorderly Intoxication in Public

On Monday, April 14, Cuban-American actor William Levy, 44, was arrested and booked at the Broward County Main Jail in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on charges of disorderly intoxication in a public place and trespassing, according to jail records obtained by PEOPLE.

Levy was released the following Tuesday morning after posting a $500 bond. While the arrest occurred in Weston, just north of Miami, the circumstances surrounding it remain unclear.

PEOPLE has reached out to Levy's representatives for comment.

William Levy, known for his roles in telenovelas like Sortilegio and La Tempestad, as well as films like Girls Trip, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, and Tyler Perry's The Single Moms Club, competed on season 14 of Dancing with the Stars in 2012, finishing in third place.

This incident comes nearly a year after his ex-wife, Elizabeth Gutiérrez, publicly confirmed their separation after two decades together in May 2024.

Reflecting on their relationship, Gutiérrez, 46, said, "I always bet on my relationship. I loved William, I think it's no secret that he was the love of my life as I always bet and wanted to show us as we were."

In an interview with HOLA!, Gutiérrez explained, "We are not together anymore. On my part, it was never for lack of love. I think I'm not the same person I was 20 years ago when he met me. What we want at this moment is different."

The confirmation of their split came two months after Florida police responded to a suspected domestic disturbance at their former shared home. Reports indicate multiple law enforcement incidents involving the couple, including one in March 2024, which involved their daughter, Kailey.
