Bank of America reports that the widespread outage is almost resolved.

Bank of America customers encountered difficulties accessing their bank accounts on Wednesday, although the bank reported that the issue has mostly been resolved.

Around 12:45 PM ET, Downdetector, which tracks outages, saw a surge in reports concerning problems at Bank of America. Many customers expressed frustration at being unable to view their account balances, while others who managed to log in were shocked to see their balances listed as zero.

In a statement to CNN, Bank of America acknowledged, “Some clients are experiencing an issue accessing their accounts and balance information today.” The bank assured customers that, “These issues are being addressed and have largely been resolved,” and apologized for any inconvenience caused.

While Bank of America did not disclose the cause of the problem, it remains unclear when all systems will be fully operational again.

Several CNN employees with Bank of America accounts reported being unable to log in Wednesday afternoon. One customer received a message indicating that the current balance for one or more accounts “may be temporarily unavailable.”

One user on Downdetector noted, “Five accounts show zero balance, over 20K.” Another shared that he couldn’t log in while his wife could, but her accounts also displayed no balance. A different customer commented, “Shows my debt just fine tho.”

This story will be updated as new developments arise.
