Today’s NYT Mini Crossword Answers for Tuesday, August 13
By Kris Holt
If you’re wondering about the type of chain you might want to avoid or need a hint on what a stereotypical late riser is, I’ve got you covered with today’s NYT Mini crossword answers.
The NYT Mini is a condensed version of the New York Times’ main crossword, featuring a 5x5 grid with three to five clues per direction. The puzzles can vary in size, particularly on Saturdays.
Unlike the larger crossword, the NYT Mini is available for free on the New York Times website or NYT Games app. However, accessing the puzzle archives requires a subscription.
To help you avoid getting stuck, here are the NYT Mini Crossword answers for Wednesday, August 14 (spoilers ahead):
NYT Mini Crossword Answers:
Across
- 1 Across: Get some shut-eye - SLEEP
- 6 Across: Like some difficult running paths - HILLY
- 7 Across: Kind of chain you might wish to be off - EMAIL
- 8 Across: "Same here!" - DITTO
- 9 Across: Late riser, stereotypically - TEEN
Down
- 1 Down: Remove, as a layer of snakeskin - SHED
- 2 Down: Value that a function approaches, in math - LIMIT
- 3 Down: Make extremely happy - ELATE
- 4 Down: In the top 1% - ELITE
- 5 Down: End zone marker - PYLON
I finished today’s puzzle in 35 seconds, though it felt a bit challenging. I quickly got SLEEP and HILLY, but DITTO was initially confusing, and TEEN threw me off at first. It took solving the Down clues to make sense of the Across words and complete the puzzle. EMAIL was particularly tricky for me.
