Will Hawaii Be Affected by Developing Tropical Cyclones? An active tropical cyclone formation pattern in the Eastern and Central Pacific may bring several named storms toward Hawaii. Currently, Hurricane Gilma is the only storm with a name, but a second disturbance could soon develop into a tropical storm.
The nearest system to Hawaii is a disturbance known as Invest 90/91E. Computer models predict its gradual development, and Hurricane Hunters are scheduled to investigate the system on Thursday.
Snowfall in Yellowstone National Park Despite summer still being in full swing, some mountains in the West, including Yellowstone National Park, are likely to see their first snowfall of the season as we enter the final month of summer. A significant trough in the Northwest is expected to drop temperatures by 10 to 20 degrees or more, leading to snowfall in higher elevations.

"I was surprised to see the Moon rise through the flames and shocked when I captured a helicopter dropping retardant on the fire in the shadow of the Moon," said Chere Tamura.
